Didier and Sophie Wattrelot have over 50 years of experience on the water between them - providing an atmosphere of comfort and safety while you journey with them.
Didier Wattrelot

Owner and Captain of Sauvage. Born in 1956 in France, Didier has 30 years of sailing experience with the first 10 years in commercial fishing in France as a First mate. The following years were dedicated to sailing on his own private yachts around the world including a single handed non stop crossing from Polynesia to Falklands through Cape Horn aboard his first 38 ft cutter. After working in the Caribbean for famous charter companies aboard maxi luxury yachts as a professional captain (French sailing Master), he decided to build his own private charter cruising sailing yacht.
Didier and crew built SAUVAGE in a shipyard in the south of Brazil and launched in the water in 1995. Since that year, Sauvage has been taking passengers for adventure charter cruises around the world.
Didier is not only fond of sailing but also of free diving, spear fishing which he practices a lot in Polynesia in the lagoons and passes and loves showing people the beauties and wild life underwater; he also is a good hiker. Didier speaks French and English.
Sophie Wattrelot

Hostess, cook, deckhand and translator. Born in 1967 in France, Sophie did her first Atlantic crossing aboard a charter catamaran at the age of 19. Since then she has worked full time on various maxi yachts and charter boats as a hostess, cook and deckhand.
Sophie has gathered lots of recipes from all over the world and loves cooking for the guest aboard Sauvage. She loves sports and practices paddle canoe, windsurfing, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking.
Sophie speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
